Our story, rooted in the heartland
Discover the journey of Food and Flowers, from our humble beginnings, starting in a trailer on the side of the road, to becoming an established business and storefront in Charter Oak, Iowa. Amy and Nick have a passion for quality food and a dedication to the community.

From family tables to community markets
The Food and Flower Farm was founded with a mission to provide fresh, local food to our family and friends. As the word spread, market demand soon followed. Today, Food and Flowers serves several farmers' markets throughout Western Iowa. In February of 2026, the Schumacher Family proudly opened a brick-and-mortar farm stand in Downtown Charter Oak, Iowa, bringing our harvest directly to you.

Beyond the ordinary: Our unique offerings
Food and Flowers specializes in providing fresh local food, including heritage-breed pork, grass-fed lamb, pasture-raised chicken, farm-fresh eggs, homemade jams and jellies, as well as seasonal cut flowers, produce, potted plants, and plant starts. The Schumachers believe in providing a diverse selection of high-quality products directly from our farm to your table.
